Paper Prototype

Sync Slash is a Paper prototype task designed to develop the functionality and value of a game before it is put into production. This project involved three stages, the first of which was ideation in which I developed a concept for a VR wave survival game. This concept was then refined, and the game play was established including a weapon and fighting system that would require combination attacks to be performed with each enemy. Once a certain number of enemies had been defeated you could move to the next night, increasing in difficulty as the nights progressed. After developing the concept, I then created the paper prototype, and with the use of a printed and painted environment consisting of paper and foam I created assets that could be positioned and filmed to simulate the game play giving the viewer and me a good idea if the game would be fun and viable as a concept. This project was highly rewarding as it taught me about the planning of designs and the ideation processed involved at the start of projects, leading to the creation of video which represents a game concept that is both fun and achievable for actual production.
